ArtSets

ArtSets organize the brushes in TwistedBrush into groups of 60 brushes. There are a variety of types of ArtSets, from standard art tools, specialize collections, patterns brushes, cloners, photo retouching brushes, image brushes, etc.

Editing ArtSets

It is easy to create your own brushes and then store them into your own ArtSets. All the tools used by the creators of TwistedBrush to create brushes and ArtSets are included. You can even create your own collections of brushes easily by entering the ArtSet build mode and selecting brushes from other ArtSets. Then if you like, make these your shortcuts with a press of a button.

Select Colors

Color selections are plentitful with the included color palettes. Additionally you can tweak selected colors, create your own palettes, select colors from your picture, from a reference image, the scratch layer or even the trace source image. Dynamic palettes also aid in color selections, allowing you to pick from the history of colors used or hue ranges from your currently selected color.

Tools

All the tools you expect are available from the tool bar. When you have a tool selected it is activated with the right mouse (stylus) click. This means your drawing brush is always available and you never need to reselect your brush to start painting again. The tools you expect are here, eye dropper, cropping, moving, line, box, ellipse, flood fill, gradiant, masking tools, text, drawing guides, brush rotate, brush cleaner etc.

Layers

TwistedBrush includes an advanced system called Layers. With layers you can split your work into transparent layers that sit on top on each others and allow for incredible editing and adjustment options even at the end stages of your painting. A wide range of layer blending modes exist including many not available in any other painting program.

Paper Textures

Use paper textures while you draw to give the feel and look of textured paper and canvas. Over 70 different surface textures are included.

Masks

Masks are the artists masks you may be familiar with if you've done traditional artwork. TwistedBrush has an extensive set of masking capabilities that you'll use to protect and manipulate areas of your work. Included is a magic wand with a number of different modes for creating your masks. Or use a common shape or one of the many masking brushes to create exactly the mask you need.

Filters

A filter allows for processing the image all at once. TwistedBrush includes the full range of image processing filters ready to use.

Tracing Paper

The tracing paper feature gives you the ability to turn your canvas into tracing paper so that you can see a reference image below it for use as a drawing guide. This is invaluable for many types of work.

Cloning

Cloning, taking image data from somewhere else and placing it into your painting, that is cloning. The source image for the TwistedBrush cloning brushes can be a different image or from another area of your current picture. The cloners can be used to render a photo as a artist drawing, or to touch-up a photo or do many things in-between.

Scripts

With scripts you can record your painting actions and play them back, recreating your painting from scratch. This has value for trying out different "what-if" scenarios, for teaching pusposes, for animation production when used with the AVI saving option or just for entertainment.

Pattern Brushes

There are a number of ArtSets that contain Pattern brushes. These brushes paint a pattern on your canvas as you paint. Adjust the size the pattern with the density slider. Categories of patterns include, surface, materials, nature and others.

Brush Shapes

Most any brush in TwistedBrush can be further enhanced with a shape.

Drawing Guides

Drawing guides are a visual aid that appears over your canvas to help you with perspective, distances, and general construction of your artwork. A large number of different drawing guides are included.

Image Brushes

Image brushes are powerful tools for both recreating the flow and feel of working with natural media but also for allowing for extraordinary painting effects. The Image Brushes : Basic ArtSet includes the brushes you need that when used in combination of captured images give you an unlimited supply of brushes.

Image Warp

When using the Image Warp tool you will be pulling, pushing, pinching, and stretching your image as if it was make of rubber or putty. These tools at the extreme case can be fun for wildly adjusting a photo as shown here. But used with more finese they are invaluble for making minor adjustments to your photos or artwork saving you countless hours or re-working in more labor intensive ways.

Changes in version 15.52:
* Improved - Positioning text with the Text tool is now faster (but no longer shown anti-aliased until the mouse button is released).
* Improved - Significantly reduced the likelihood of accidental layer mini bar selections and layer creations. Action is now triggered by both the click and release (mouse button up and down) on the same layer in the mini bar. Because of its location close the settings panel and the drawing page it was not uncommon to accidently create or select a layer.
* Improved - The readability of the RGB and HSL textual readouts.
* Changed - Default the Line tool to not connected.
* Fixed - Using the warp tool would cause the image data to darken quickly. A number of other tools also had this problem but not at the rate of the warp tool.

Adobe has announced that it will discontinue its one-time flagship website creation tool, Adobe GoLive. The rumor mill has long held that Dreamweaver, a web development tool that came into the Adobe fold following the 2005 acquisition of Macromedia, would one day replace GoLive and now it seems that the day has finally arrived.

Although GoLive is still for sale on the Adobe site, Devin Fernandez, GoLive’s product manager, tells Macworld that the company believes Dreamweaver is a better fit for today’s web developer.

Adobe has been touting Dreamweaver over GoLive for some time, complete with a “switcher” website dedicated to convincing GoLive users that Dreamweaver was better suited to their needs.

The demise of GoLive shouldn’t come as too great of a surprise considering that the switcher site itself reads: “before purchasing Adobe GoLive 9 software, consider Adobe Dreamweaver CS3, the market-leading tool to design, develop, and maintain websites and web applications.” That’s not exactly the kind of faith in GoLive that inspires purchasing confidence.

If you’ve got a brand new shiny copy of GoLive 9, fear not, Adobe plans to support GoLive users with online tutorials and help, as well as assistance for those that want to migrate to Dreamweaver. There will also be special $200 upgrade price for GoLive users who want to make the leap to Dreamweaver.

GoLive isn’t the first app to bite the dust as a result of the MAcromedia acquisition, previously Adobe retired Macromedia’s Freehand app in favor of Adobe’s homegrown Illustrator CS3.

This is the Avira AntiVir Rescue System. The Avira AntiVir Rescue System is designed to boot from CD/DVD. Usage:

To start Avira AntiVir Rescue System insert the CD/DVD in your CD/DVD-ROM device and reboot the computer. Avira AntiVir Rescue System is starting the bootmanager now. If the Avira AntiVir Rescue System does not start automatically, see section 'Setting up your BIOS' below.

After Booting, you see the bootmanager-menu. You then can choose either booting from local hard disc or booting the Avira AntiVir Rescue System from CD/DVD-ROM. Press key '2' to choose "boot into AntiVir Rescue System" and confirm with 'enter'. Now the Avira AntiVir Rescue System is starting.
Next Step is to choose your prefered language. Your choices are English and German. Use 'key up' or 'key down' to navigate in the menu. Take the choice by pressing 'space bar' and confirm with 'enter'. The Rescue System boot process is proceeding. This can take some minutes.
When Avira AntiVir Rescue System is up, a graphical menu is displayed. For navigation in menu use 'key up' and 'key down'. Confirm with 'enter'. The Menue offers you the following choices:
readme: In this menu a readme document is available. Here you can find information about usage of Avira AntiVir Rescue System.
scan: This will initialize a full (this includes all mounted filesystems) system scan. Be aware that this may take a while.
log: Shows the results of the last scan. Logfile is saved as /tmp/avlogfile.
savelog: Save the logfile on hard disk or floppy disk.
update: Choosing this option provides the opportunity to update your AntiVir files. Updates can be downloaded from:

You can either burn the rescue_update.zip file on a CD/DVD-ROM or copy rescue_update.zip into the existing filesystem on your hard disk.
open: Brings up a linux console with limited instruction set.

Setting up your BIOS
Avira AntiVir Rescue System is designed to boot from CD/DVD-ROM. To boot from CD/DVD-ROM the boot priority in BIOS has to be reorganized. For editing BIOS preferences the computer has to be restarted. After restart a key has to be pressed to enter BIOS. Usually the BIOS is printing the used key on the screen. On most systems it is 'del' or 'F1'. Press that key on booting to enter BIOS.

When you have entered the BIOS you have to set the first boot device to CD/DVD-ROM. This option is usually located in the index card 'boot options'. After confirming by 'save and exit' the computer is restarting again. Make sure that the Avira AntiVir Rescue System CD/DVD-ROM is in the CD/DVD-ROM drive. On some system booting from CD/DVD-ROM has to be confirmed on boot process by pressing any key. The computer is starting the Avira AntiVir Rescue System bootmanager now.
